Breaking Into the Film Industry: A Production Assistant Workshop
This is a 3–4 hour, in-person workshop designed to introduce beginners to the film industry through the role of a Production Assistant (PA)—the most common entry point into film production.
Led by a 15-year industry professional, the workshop focuses on real-world, practical knowledge—how sets operate, how to find paid work, and how to build connections that lead to future opportunities.
What attendees will learn:
How to get their first paid job on a film set
Where to find production work in Texas
Set etiquette and expectations
Basic production workflow (prep, shoot, wrap)
How to network and build relationships in the industry
Audience: Aspiring filmmakers, creatives, and individuals (18+) with little to no experience who are looking to break into film production.
