This art show is dedicated to our immigrant community, particularly those from Latin American countries. By and large, this community came to the United States in pursuit of economic opportunity for the betterment of their families, and they are being unjustly maligned by the current administration. In light of the climate, we cannot afford to be ambiguous or lukewarm in our stand against injustice. The Holocaust didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with mass deportations. This show is dedicated to the pursuers of the American Dream.
In addition to the art show, the evening will include:
5:15-6:15pm: A screening of episode 1 of John Leguizamo’s VOCES American Historia: The Untold History of Latinos
6:30-7:00pm: Know Your Rights Workshop
7:00-7:30pm: Protest Sign Making
7:30-8:00pm: Spoken Word for sharing immigration stories and poems
